The work of a Student Ambassador is varied and may include:
- Supporting our open days
- Leading individual visits or campus tours
- Assisting school visits to campus, including Destination Uni and Primary2Uni
- Attending schools and colleges
- Attending Higher Education fairs
- Assisting with activities both on and off campus
- Sitting on student panels to participate in audience Q&As
- Assisting with the Bright Sparks STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) Club
- Working with your faculty to talk about your course
- Assisting with our Summer School
- Assisting with various marketing campaigns
- Administrative duties
Being a Student Ambassador will boost your personal and professional development by giving you opportunities to expand your interpersonal and networking skills, meet new people, improve your public speaking and gain valuable experience in a large organisation.

Student Ambassador work is paid at a rate of £12.31 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. Correct at the time of publishing, August 2023.

Student Ambassadors must work three recruitment-based assignments every term. One of the three must be an Open Day. Please see the list below of Open Days per term to ensure you will meet the working requirements. Recruitment-based activities include interviews, campus tours, and school visits.

If you wish to be considered to become a Student Ambassador please read the Student Ambassador Role Profile (.pdf) and apply via the online application form before the deadline of 12pm on Friday 22 March.
Interviews will be held in person on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 April – no other dates will be available. You will be asked to choose a preferred date during your application.
Compulsory training will be held in person on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 April, 9am – 5pm. You will be asked to choose a preferred date during your application. If successful, the Student Ambassador Team can partner with your course leader to ensure you can attend.
This role is for a minimum of one year, so we are unable to accept applications from students graduating in summer or winter 2024.
