Join us online for an insightful and thought-provoking webinar, where Dr Helen Willams will highlight key aspects of the criminal justice system which work to 'vulnerablise' individuals and will consider the crucial role that leadership can play in implementing protective measures through policy and practice.
Vulnerability in the criminal justice system has become a topic of concern in recent years. Whether we work with victims of crime, those accused of crime, or those who work on the frontline, we should be mindful of the factors that can influence an individual's engagement in the process. Policy plays a key role in assessing and mitigating vulnerability, but can also work to exacerbate disadvantage for some.
This is your opportunity to:
- Gain a deeper understanding of how vulnerability is conceptualised in justice and policing contexts
- Consider leadership strategies for addressing vulnerability ethically and effectively
- Engage with our expert academic and ask questions
- Gain an insight into postgraduate study in leadership and justice
If you are a graduate or a professional within the criminal justice system, or have an interest in leadership, ethics or social justice, and you're looking to equip yourself with the skills needed to lead effectively, this webinar will provide an introduction to areas of key thinking which form the basis of our MSc Leadership in Criminal Justice and Policing course.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions on this engaging topic and find out more about our master’s course, entry requirements, and learning options available at the University of Sunderland.
Join us online on Thursday 19 June 2025 1pm to 2pm.
