Join Professor Monika Foster, Head of School of Business and Management, and Dr David Killick, Emeritus Fellow, Leeds Beckett University, for a round table discussion on student relationships and critical pedagogy to celebrate the publication of their volume ‘Learner Relationships in Global Higher Education: A Critical Pedagogy’, on Wednesday 5 May at 1pm.
"I've worked in business schools and higher education in the UK, Europe and Far East for over 25 years. I successfully led strategic initiatives to enhance the student experience including enhanced transitions for mature and international students, and student-centred, work-based learning solutions for all undergraduate students. I've championed innovation on programmes of study working with students as co-creators of the curriculum, and the development of Executive Education and CPD with businesses.
I was responsible for learning, teaching and assessment strategy, including international partnerships and quality assurance (Europe (Poland, Germany, Russia, Holland), Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore). I have industry experience in the shipping industry setting up international training centres.
My external profile includes the award of Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and advisory role with HEA to develop a national Framework for Internationalisation, and a title of Visiting Professor from Shandong University of Finance, People’s Republic of China. I'm a Certified Business and Management Educator (CMBE) with Chartered ABS, with a strong CPD profile including an award of Leaders in Learning and Teaching from Chartered ABS."
