Childhood Discovery Day: Learning and Development

Home / Events / Event
Childhood poster

This event is for students in year 12 and 13. It is particuarly ideal for those who are interested in studying Childhood Studies, Education Studies or Primary Education at university.

Childhood Studies as a subject examines key traditional and contemporary theories of child development; helps you gain an understanding of developmental theory and learn how the different perspectives on child development impacts on the approaches used in current childhood settings.

Students in this area are able to identify learning practices in school. How do these fit within different curriculum models and reflect different learning theories?

Students have the chance to develop their knowledge and understanding of the child as an individual and the position of the child in society.

Primary Education is a course that offers Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and is built upon such knowledge to educate students of a pre-secondary school age. What techniques and strategies are used to enagage and educate students across a wide age group, often with conflicting educational needs?

This event is open to students in year 12 and 13. We are accepting both group bookings from teachers and individual bookings from students.
