The School of Law at the University of Sunderland, in collaboration with the Law, Society & Vulnerable People Hub, invite Year 12 and 13 students from local schools and colleges to join their Counter Terrorism Symposium. Participation is via a Poster Competition which will take place on the second day of the Symposium, judged by an illustrious panel of academics, legal professionals and counter terrorism experts.

Students from participating schools will consider what terrorism means to them with a view to exploring different methods of combatting terrorism in the real world.

Students can enter the competition in pairs and will be provided with a brief which offers four different topics areas within the field of counter terrorism to choose from. The finished posters should be submitted electronically and the University will organise printing and display at the event. The judging panel will decide which pairs win the prize in each of the five categories on the day.

A full event overview and poster brief is available once you have booked places for your students here

After the event, all posters will be collated into a commemorative e-book which will be made available to all Symposium participants.

This is a unique opportunity for your students to engage with legal academics and police officers who specialise in driving counter terrorism measures and policy. Places are limited so book now!
