Our Future Journalism Stars Competition is back!

Do you want to write and create your own content?

We are looking for the next Journalism stars. We are inviting students to enter the University of Sunderland’s competition to find the best online storytellers of 2022.

The winner will take away an iPad and money-can’t-buy journalism experience at the University of Sunderland’s Media Centre.

Our Future Journalism Stars Competition launched on Wednesday 14t September 2022. During the session we were joined by our academics and mediaHUB interns who explained how to create a free WordPress website in a free online masterclass. To view our WordPress site click here.

The University of Sunderland wants competition entrants to create content on a subject they’re passionate about. They will receive one-to-one advice on how to make amazing content with a dedicated professional mentor from our Journalism, Sports Journalism or Fashion Journalism courses.

For a chance to win, all you need to do is:

• Set up a free website

• Choose a subject you are passionate about, such as sport, fashion, music, sustainability, movies

• Find your voice by uploading at least five articles

• Add in images, videos or embed Tik Tok and YouTube videos

• Get one-to-one feedback from our journalism team

Last year’s competition winner won an iPad and experienced a day in the MediaHub where she got to write and publish her own content. You can view this here. To find out more about last years competition click here to hear from last years winner!

The deadline is Friday 16th December 2022 and the winner will be announced after Christmas. Good luck!

This competition is open to year 12 and year 13 students with an interest in writing and creating content.
