In this lecture, Professor Baglee, Professor of Advanced Maintenance, will introduce a snapshot of his career and will discuss how technology has changed during these years to support ‘smarter’ maintenance management utilising industry 4 tools and techniques.
Professor Baglee obtained his PhD from the University of Sunderland in 2005, he is a Professor of Advanced Maintenance at the University of Sunderland, a Visiting Professor of Operations and Maintenance at the University of Lulea, Sweden and a Visiting Research Professor at the University of Maryland USA.
His research interests include advanced maintenance management strategies, condition-monitoring technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies to support maintenance strategy development; this includes Big Data systems, Industry 4 and the use of Virtual Reality to design new manufacturing systems. Throughout his career, he has presented at over 100 conferences and published in many international journal publications.
The lecture “Where and I and how did I get here” takes place on Monday 29 June at 6.00pm at the Prospect Building, room 009, St Peter’s Campus, Sunderland, SR6 0DD.
