During this 2 hour on campus event students will take part in 4 short interactive demos delivered by our healthcare academics. The event is for year 12 students considering a degree in one of our NHS aligned courses.
This event is taking place twice on the same day. The two separate sessions are:
- 9am - 12pm
- 12:30pm - 3pm
Students will have the opportunity to have a hands on demonstration delivered by our academic teaching staff to gain an insight into the NHS courses we offer here at the University of Sunderland. The below courses will be included:
- BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science and out of Hospital Care
- BSc (Hons) Nursing
- BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy Accelerated
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
Students will spend their time in our mock hospital wards located in Helen McArdle House and The Living Lab, which has benefited from a multi-million pound investment in recent years. Our facilities are designed to include interprofessional learning and will give you the opportunity to collaborate with students from other disciplines within the University to simulate the real-life experience as closely as possible.
Our Paramedic Science taster will take place in our a unique immersive simulation room, that allows participants to experience a range of simulated scenarios in a safe environment. The space is designed to make scenarios feel as close to reality as possible, to enable students to practise their clinical skills safely.
