Freedom of Information

Home / Help and advice / Corporate and legal / Freedom of Information / FOI

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 gives individuals or organisations the right to request information held by the University, as a public body, subject to certain exemptions. The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 work on a similar principle with regard to environmental issues.

The University of Sunderland is committed to promoting public understanding of its nature and activities via the systematic publication of relevant information. It will also make every effort to provide, where practical and permissible, additional information to members of the public in cases where routinely published information does not provide them with the information they require.
