Our School Alliances
We work in partnership with approximately 60 schools on our PGCE School Direct course, across primary and secondary settings. Each of these schools is part of a School Direct Alliance, which is led by a ‘Lead school’.
You will apply to a School Direct Alliance and following a successful interview, you could be placed in one of their ‘Host schools’.
We are currently in partnership with the below School Alliances:
Aim High Alliance (Primary)
Lead school: Newbottle Primary Academy
Host schools include: Barmston Village Primary, Gillas Lane Primary Academy, Deaf Hill Primary and Nursery School, Kelloe Primary School and Greenland Community Primary School.
Castle View Enterprise Academy Teaching Alliance (Secondary)
Lead school: Castle View Enterprise Academy
Host schools include: Villa Real School, Belmont Community School, Oxclose Community Academy, King James I Academy, Durham School, St Wilfrid’s RC College and Kings Priory School.
Durham Schools Together (Primary)
Lead school: Coxhoe Primary School
Host schools include: Esh C of E Primary, Bowburn Nursery and Infant School, West Cornforth Primary, Newker Primary School.
Teach North East (Secondary)
Lead school: Harton Academy
Host schools include: Boldon School, Jarrow School, Hetton School, Farringdon Community Academy, Park View School and Hebburn Comprehensive School.
Inspire Multi Academy Teaching Alliance (Primary)
Lead school: Burnside Primary School

South of Tyne Primary Alliance (Primary)

Sunderland Nurseries Partners in Pedagogy (Primary)
Lead school: Pennywell Early Years Centre

Washington and Chester le Street Training Teacher Alliance (Primary)

West Park Alliance (Primary)
Lead school: West Park Academy (Lead)
