Main convenor – Prof Angela Smith is Professor of Language and Culture in the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries.
Angela teaches mainly on BA (Hons) English: Creative and Professional Writing, where she specialises in English Language, particularly sociolinguistics. Angela specialises in language and gender, both masculinities and femininities, and also sexuality.
Angela's research is linked to her teaching in that one feeds into the other. She has particular interests in gender and has written extensively on this topic.
