To celebrate five years of the CASS Working Papers we have completed a consultation and review process and are now ready to relaunch in a new and exciting format!

We remain focused on the social issues affecting the region and beyond; and continue to engage in research and practice-based collaborations that aim to improve living conditions, address inequalities and social exclusion, and promote social justice and social policy.

With that in mind our new format is aimed at extending the focus and remit of the CASS Working Papers to encourage a wider range of papers and more submissions from practitioners and early career researchers.

What’s new?

True to its name, these articles are work in progress papers, perhaps presenting initial findings from research; a reflective piece from practice; a commentary on a current social issue; or a first submission from an early career researcher. Through the reviewing process and in allowing unlimited re-submissions, we actively support new and emerging authors to write their papers to a high standard.

Who can submit?

Submissions are actively encouraged from CASS members, practitioners in the field, PhD students and both experienced and early-career researchers. We also encourage submissions from Masters’ students who have completed primary research projects as part of their dissertations; and those wishing to write new book reviews that may be beneficial to theory, research, policy and practice.

What should I do if I want to submit something?

You can find full details on the submission process (including submission formats, the process and what to expect) on our CASS website and you can also contact the editor, Dr. Lesley Deacon to speak to her about your ideas for a working paper. We look forward to hearing from you!
