Course summary
Do you want to gain an advanced, integrated understanding of biomedical sciences? This MSc will help you build on your existing knowledge. You'll learn how to apply your expertise within clinical laboratory medicine and research. This includes the complex processes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of human disease.
You'll study a variety of specialist disciplines in-depth. This will provide you with a high level of critical awareness of:
- Scientific research
- Technological development
- Diagnostic pathology.
The course also focuses on enhancing your understanding around:
- Leadership practices
- Quality management systems
- The ethical issues that underpin biomedical sciences.
As well as the four core modules, you'll choose an optional module to specialise in. This means you can tailor your studies to your own interests and career goals.
We support our teaching with a wide range of other expertise. For example, you'll attend guest lectures led by clinical practice staff. You'll also learn from research-active academics and have the chance to get involved in research yourself.
