For example, stock broking, investment and portfolio management, treasury, and corporate finance departments.

You’ll learn how financial systems work and how they support lending, borrowing, and the real economy. You’ll study key concepts such as asymmetric information, moral hazard, adverse selection, market efficiency, and international financial regulation. You’ll also examine how international money, capital, equity, and foreign exchange markets function. Using statistical and graphical techniques, you'll develop practical skills in analysing financial market data. You’ll work with datasets to study interest rate structures, share price movements, exchange rate volatility, and the pricing of financial instruments. Using tools such as SPSS and R, you’ll evaluate market behaviour, test ideas like the Efficient Market Hypothesis, and analyse how derivative instruments support risk management and market efficiency.
