The PgCert Special Educational Needs and Disabilities: Leading Provision and Practice (DL) course is designed for education and care professionals who want to deepen their understanding of effective support for children with SEND.

This degree recognises the diverse global contexts of practitioners working with children and young people with SEND, offering weekly opportunities to apply your learning and reflect on its impact.

You'll benefit from high-quality, evidence-based teaching that's directly relevant to your career. After completing the course, you can progress to the MA Education or MA International Education degree – both available to study through distance learning.

How you'll learn

This flexible degree has been designed to fit around work commitments and is taught via distance learning under the guidance and support of our academic team.

Entry requirements

We usually require at least a second class honours degree (usually a 2:1) or equivalent. Qualifications gained outside the UK will be equivalency checked.

You'll also be currently working with children or young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

If your first language isn't English you must achieve a minimum IELTS band score of 6.5, with 6.5 in writing, and no less than 6 in Reading, Speaking and Listening.

Please note, along with your application form, you must upload the following documents:

Degree and/or PGCE certificate
Support letter from your education or care setting stating they're in agreement with you undertaking the course.
