The University of Sunderland podcast brings together our students and experts to discuss big ideas and topical issues.
In June we’ve been discussing:
Living in student accommodation
Students Beth, Ying, Marius and Amy share their experiences of living in student accommodation. Hear their reasons for choosing their accommodation, what they love about where they live and their advice for future students. We’re also joined by Emma Colbeck, Accommodation Services Manager, who tells us more about the accommodation we offer, how to apply for accommodation, the overall process and what students can expect when they arrive.
This episode is the perfect listen for anyone who has applied to Sunderland and is looking to live in student accommodation.
Pride Month 2021
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Justine Gillespie, is joined by staff and students to discuss Pride Month 2021. On the panel are: David Metcalfe, chair of the LGBTQI+ staff network; Jenny Westgate, who also attends the LGBTQI+ staff network; Charlotte Feather, Sunderland Students’ Union LGBTQI+ part-time officer; and Soph Storey, who studies Psychology. As well as talking about the importance of Pride Month, they also discuss what we do as a university to support staff and students of the LGBTQI+ community and what the city of Sunderland has to offer.
