These scholarships and bursaries are for international students who study at the University of Sunderland.

If you are an international student, you are eligible for financial support while you study with us in the form of automatically awarded fee discounts.

What is it?

£1,400 tuition fee reduction (undergraduates) or £900 tuition fee reduction (postgraduates).

Who can apply?

All international students studying on-campus undergraduate and postgraduate courses excluding preparation courses such as foundation courses, EAP or pre-master’s.

It applies to students starting in September, October and November 2024 as well as January, February, April and June 2025.

How much will I get?

£1,400 tuition fee reduction (undergraduates) or £900 tuition fee reduction (postgraduates).

How do I apply?

You do not need to apply for this award. It will be automatically awarded.

When can I apply?

You do not need to apply for this award. It will be automatically awarded.

How will I be paid?

The International Scholarship will show on your conditional offer letter in the tuition fee section as a reduction when you receive their offer. It will be automatically applied to your fees.

When will I receive my award?

The tuition fee reduction will be automatically applied.

What is it?

20% waiver on the full cost of course fees to reward loyal alumni who return to study a postgraduate degree at the University.

Who can apply?

Alumni (graduates of the University) who enrol on a full or part-time postgraduate course (MA, MSc, LLM, MBA, Mphil, PhD, Dprof, DBA, EdD, or PhD by Existing or Creative Works) delivered at either of our Sunderland campuses starting between 1 August 2024 and 31 July 2025.

How much will I get?

You’ll receive a 20% fee reduction.

How do I apply?

You do not need to apply for this scheme; if you are eligible, then you will automatically receive the discount.

When can I apply?

You do not need to apply. When you enrol onto your course, if you are eligible the award will be automatically applied.

How will I be paid?

The discount will be automatically applied.

When will I receive my award?

You'll receive your award when you enrol onto your course.
