Take the first step to a teaching career. Learn from experienced educators about what the role involves and discover their passions. Receive support to help you prepare for your PGCE interview.
The content of the sessions will be based around our Five Foundation Concepts which link directly to the Teachers’ Standards. Live, online sessions will allow staff to engage with the students and provide interesting insights into teaching and share their passion.
The course will give students an introduction to the responsibilities of a teacher, with short tasks providing the opportunity for students to reflect on what they see in a school context.
The final session will provide an opportunity to showcase our PGCE provision, the wide variety of courses offered and the flexibility within these. During the one-to-one tutorial, students will discuss their reflections and considerations about a career in teaching. Tutors will provide support in preparing for an interview for a PGCE.
The course will be 12 weeks in duration, with a one-hour session each week. There will be six recorded sessions and six online live sessions with the School of Education staff, as well as a one-hour tutorial. The content of the sessions will be based around our Five Foundation Concepts which link directly to the Teachers’ Standards.

The cohort size for this course is a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30.
The fee for this course is £500 per person.
