You'll be introduced to a wide range of engineering systems and concepts. The course has been carefully constructed to prepare you to work effectively in the modern world of engineering and gain a deeper understanding of this fascinating discipline.

Discover more about a selection of analytical and management techniques, and the tools to apply these techniques in accordance with the recognised ethical requirements expected of, and by, professional engineers.

Graduates from this course can go on to jobs in the automotive, materials, food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, among many others. More generally, you'll be equipped to take up a wide range of roles throughout the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

What you'll study

Undergraduate module credits should total 120 credits per academic year. If optional modules are available alongside core modules on your course, you should choose an amount that totals 120 credits.

How you'll learn

Teaching methods on this course includes lectures, seminars, group work, and e-learning. We encourage you to develop independent study skills. You'll also have opportunities to present ideas to other students and develop concepts within groups.

As well as assessments that count towards your degree, there are ongoing assessments for feedback and consolidating your learning. Assessment methods include exams, multiple-choice tests, and projects.

Undergraduate fees are set according to rules from Government in line with forecast inflation. The fee for your first year of study for 2026/27 will be £9,535. You'll pay tuition fees for every year of study. Fees may increase every year based on the Retail Price Index.
