Course summary

Combine hands-on development with theory to learn how and why computers work as they do.

Explore a wide range of tools and technologies and become adept in software development and configuration. Learn industry-relevant languages, such as Javascript, C#, Python, and SQL.

Work alongside other students and expert staff in the David Goldman Technology Centre, where you'll access specialist computer science labs.

We provide professional-level developer software and advanced hardware through accreditations with Cisco and other major companies. We also have excellent industry links and provide you with the opportunity to study for industry certifications.

In your final year of the course, you'll undertake a major individual project. This adds to your hands-on experience and could lead to a job offer upon graduation. Previous graduates have become developers, IT managers, information analysts, and academics. Employers that have taken on our graduates include Sage, British Airways and the NHS.

Many of our courses include a range of modules you can choose from. Some of these options may only be available if you’ve already studied specific required modules. If you’re not sure what you need before picking a module, your course leader can help.

Undergraduate module credits should total 120 credits per academic year. If optional modules are available alongside core modules on your course, you should choose an amount that totals 120 credits.

How you'll learn

Teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, seminars and laboratory sessions. We encourage you to develop independent study skills as well as work with other students on group projects.

As well as assessments that count towards your degree, there are also ongoing opportunities for feedback and consolidating your learning.

Undergraduate fees are set according to rules from Government in line with forecast inflation. The fee for your first year of study for 2026/27 will be £9,535. You'll pay tuition fees for every year of study. Fees may increase every year based on the Retail Price Index.
