Course summary

This course equips you with game development skills, backed by industry-standard practices. You'll work in our Game Development Lab using game engines, console gamepads, flight/vehicle controls, and VR devices.

You'll develop games for platforms such as PC, mobile, and VR while working with other students as part of a games studio environment. You'll become adept in game programming and use industry-relevant languages and mathematical concepts through popular game engines.

In your final year, you'll undertake a major individual project with research-active staff. This adds to your hands-on experience and, in some cases, could lead to a job offer.

The course has a strong emphasis on real-world learning to boost employability. You'll gain software-related transferable skills that will make you attractive to future employers.

Undergraduate fees are set according to rules from Government in line with forecast inflation. If you're a Home fee-paying student, the fee for your first year of study for 2026/27 will be £9,790. You'll pay tuition fees for every year of study. Fees may increase every year based on the Retail Price Index.
