About Dr Elaine Crawford

I began my career working as a Compliance Consultant and Auditor in the financial services industry, focusing on pensions and life assurance provision. However, I returned to university to retrain for a career in teaching and studied Environmental Sustainability (MA), Carbon Management (MSc), and then completed my PhD titled Embedding Education for Sustainable Development in the Curriculum in Scotland's Colleges: An Analysis, which I completed in 2016, all at the University of Glasgow.

While studying I was also employed in education, at Dumfries and Galloway College and on various Scottish Government funded projects, as a Sustainability Practitioner to embed sustainability within the curriculum in colleges across Scotland. This role was also combined with being the Climate Change Officer at Dumfries and Galloway College to report on their carbon emissions.

I have been employed as the Student Engagement Adviser at Dumfries and Galloway College to work with, train, and manage elected student representation through the Student Association and Class Representative systems.
