Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance

I was appointed Lecturer in Finance and Enterprise in 2015, having commenced my teaching career at the University of Sunderland as an Academic Tutor in 2009. I have been in secondary and further education since 2011 after successfully completing a PGCE with the University.

The wealth of pedagogical experience I bring is translated in university lectures and seminars in a learning style that is both engaging and offers learning facilitation for all types of learners.



Teaching and supervision

My current teaching and supervision for both undergraduates and postgraduates is focused on financial accounting. I am Module Leader and teach on:

  • UGB222 Management Accounting
  • MTG306 Financial Governance
  • APC309 Strategic Management Accounting
  • UGB389 Strategic Management Accounting (Professional)


Supervision:

  • Undergraduate and Masters

Research interests for potential research students

My interests include, but are not limited to, environmental accounting and behavioural finance, financial accounting standards, implications on global capital market funding for firms and ratio analysis, small charities CSR and accounting and disclosure for charities.
