Senior Lecturer in International Business Management

I joined the University in 2021 and have been primarily involved in the MBA and IBM final projects as a supervisor and lecturer. I am currently an Academic Tutor for MSc International Business Management.

I have over ten years of experience as a software project manager and consultant in both the public and commercial sectors. Most recently, I was the head of projects for an education software company where I managed teams in the UK and India focused on software implementations.

As a Google for Education Certified Trainer, I attend frequent meetings with Google to provide feedback on newly developed products and features for teaching and learning. I also instruct UK teachers on utilising Google products for administrative and educational objectives.

In 2021, I became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

In 2022, I was awarded a PhD from Teesside University; my thesis was titled 'An exploration into the pedagogical benefits of using social media: can educators incorporate social media into pedagogy successfully?'.

My research explores the professional development challenges associated with incorporating TEL into pedagogy. My research also highlights contemporary issues related to online data collection, such as internet ethics pertaining to confidentiality and anonymity.

Research

My research explores the professional development challenges associated with incorporating TEL into pedagogy. My research also highlights contemporary issues related to online data collection, such as internet ethics pertaining to confidentiality and anonymity.

My work is underpinned by socio-cultural theory, and the notion that social interactions are important for the construction of knowledge.

I view mixed methods research (MMR) as transformative, whereby researchers can move away from traditional paradigmatic viewpoints. I have successfully applied MMR in both complementary and supplementary ways in my research.
