Lecturer – School of Nursing and Health Sciences

I am a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing and a Health and Care Professions Council registered Biomedical Scientist with over seven years' of experience working for the NHS.

Following five years as a Biomedical Scientist, my most recent role was a Transfusion Practitioner at the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospital Foundation Trust.

My experience and knowledge lies within blood science and specifically blood transfusion and in the introduction of simulated training in the university setting.



Teaching and supervision

I assist delivery in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. I teach BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science and BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Life Sciences).

Research

My areas of interest and research include preparing students for the fast-paced nature of a Biomedical Scientist in the NHS and industry.
