Senior Lecturer and Clinical Link Tutor for Adult Nursing Practice

I qualified as a nurse in 2001 while in the British Army. During this time, I worked in several hospitals in the UK and served in active service. I have worked in various settings, including: trauma and orthopaedics, surgical emergency admissions, MAU and ENT.

I specialised in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2004 and worked in various roles within this speciality.

Other roles have included Practice Placement Facilitator, Practice Development, Project Manager, Nurse Specialist and Medical Education Programme Manager.
 
I joined University of Sunderland as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Link Tutor in 2017.


Teaching and supervision

I am a Senior Lecturer for BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice. I am also the Clinical Link Tutor for students in County Durham and Darlington Hospital.

I am the Module Lead for Nursing Practice Placement for Year 2 which includes Clinical Skills and Simulation.

I lead on simulation and mandatory training for pre registration nursing.
