I have worked as a nurse in healthcare for over 25 years in many areas including; acute and rehabiltation care in hospital, stroke research, clinical authoring, practice nursing, and most recently as a Parkinson's Nurse Specialist.
I also continue to work with PD UK as a reviewer, and as a Parkinsons Nurse adviser on the National patient helpline.

My main clinical focus is the care of people with Parkinson's, older people and people with dementia (and support for their families ).

I am also a freelance author and have written many articles for nursing journals.

Teaching and supervision

I am the Academic Lead Nurse for CPD/CWD in the faculty, under the management of the Team Lead Simone Bedford, and I am involved in the strategic development and quality review of new short courses. I am the Module Lead for several short, post registration CPD/CWD courses for nurses and allied health professionals, such as Stroke management,CPD accredication, and ophthalmology.
I also teach on the clinical skills course and am an OSCE examiner across the Nursing department.

Research interests for potential research students

My interests lie with supporting people with Parkinson's Disease and dementia and also supporting carers and family of people with these conditions.
