Lecturer in Children's and Young People's Nursing Practice

I am a Registered Children's Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

My nursing career started on the Paediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit at the Great North Children's Hospital where I worked for five years before moving to the Children's Haemodialysis Unit, also at the Great North Children's Hospital.

My most recent post was as a Senior Research Nurse with the Paediatric Clinical Research Team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, supporting the safe and ethical running of clinical trials involving children and young people.

I also keep my clinical skills up to date via occasional bank nursing duties at the GNCH.

I am fairly new to the University and became interested in teaching and academia while completing my master's here. I am passionate about children's nursing and hope to inspire the next generation of students in their journey to becoming staff nurses.
