Clinical Link Tutor and Lecturer
I am a Lecturer on BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice. I am also a clinical link tutor for students in Newcastle and Northumbria NHS trusts.
I am a registered general nurse with a background in emergency medicine and most recently, I practiced as a nurse practitioner in minor injuries and illness.
I started my nursing career nursing on a busy medical assessment ward before working in and developing a new ambulatory care unit. From there, I ventured into minor injuries and illness where I worked as a nurse practitioner.
Teaching and supervision
I teach on BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice.
My areas of expertise are emergency care, minor injuries and illness, and venous thromboembolism (VTE).
I also have interests in cardiology and patient safety issues.
