Senior Lecturer and Admissions Tutor

I've been part of the nursing team here at the University of Sunderland for the last three years, working as a lecturer in Children's & Young People's Nursing Practice before progressing into my current role of Senior Lecturer and Admissions Tutor.

Prior to joining the team at the University I worked in clinical practice as a Children's Nurse for over 12 years. I was a staff nurse on general paediatric wards across the North East before becoming a children's community nurse, providing care closer to home and preventing hospital admissions. I have knowledge and experience of acute care, palliative care and safeguarding but my area of expertise is with children with neuro-disabilities and complex health needs.

I also have extensive knowledge and experience of epilepsy and was employed as a Children's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist where I ran nurse led clinics offering education, advice and support. I am also a non-medical prescriber.
