Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and AESiP

I started my nursing career as a healthcare assistant in 2008 before completing a Registered Nursing Studies degree in 2011. I was fortunate enough to study abroad with the Erasmus programme and undertook a placement in Alicante, Spain in my second year.

My clinical experience lies in adult critical care specialising in neuro-trauma at the RVI in Newcastle, where I worked for six years and furthered my studies in critical care.

My mentorship course helped me discover my passion for teaching and working with students which encouraged me to pursue my next position as a Physical Health Skills Trainer at CNTW trust based at St Nicholas Hospital. I trained medical staff and nurses from all fields in different sessions such as CPR, phlebotomy, anaphylaxis, ECG and other physical health monitoring. In addition, I was involved in the resuscitation and medical emergencies group meetings for the Trust and the physical health monitoring CQUIN group.

My areas of interest include adult critical care, neurology and neurosurgery, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and medical emergencies, simulation-based education, and human factors.
