Academic Tutor

I have a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Psychological Research Methods from the University of Sunderland. I am currently studying towards my PhD in Psychology. My research aims to develop and validate a psychometric scale to measure online obsessive behaviours along a continuum, ranging from creeping to cyberstalking.

I am an Academic Tutor for on-campus courses BSc (Hons) Psychology and BSc (Hons) Forensic Psychology.

Teaching and supervision

I currently teach modules across BSc (Hons) Psychology and BSc (Hons) Forensic Psychology.

  • PSY144 Introduction to Forensic Psychology
  • PSY125 Psychology in the Media
  • PSY272 The Psychology of Belief
  • PSY372 Cyberpsychology
  • PSY384 The Psychology of Serious and Violent Offending

Research

I am primarily interested in Online Behaviour, Social Media and Cybercrime.

My PhD aims to develop and evaluate an appropriate measure to differentiate different types of obsessional behaviour along a continuum, so that variations and behavioural patterns relating to online creeping and cyberstalking can subsequently be investigated. The measure will allow for discrimination between passive, harmless behaviours, and those behaviours which are more active and harmful.
