Senior Lecturer in Social Work

I qualified with a Masters in Social Work in 2006 and practiced in a statutory setting for over 13 years. During this time, I worked with adults with a range of needs including physical, mental health and learning disabilities. I then specialised in adult safeguarding, first as a Senior Social Worker then as Governance and Safeguarding Manager.

I joined the University of Sunderland in November 2019. I have been a Practice Educator since 2013 and I'm taking on the role of Practice Placement Co-ordinator at the University, as well as Programme Leader on the PG Certificate in Advanced Practice Education.

Teaching and supervision

I am Programme Leader for the Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Practice Education as well as Placement Co-ordinator. I am also involved in teaching throughout the different modules, both on the BA (Hons) and MA courses.
