Lecturer in Primary Education

I recently joined the University as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Society. Prior to this, I worked as a primary school teacher since qualifying in 2006. During my time teaching, I worked with children across the entire primary age phase and coordinated a range of subjects including English (writing), mathematics, computing and geography. I have also worked as a senior leader across two schools leading Key Stage 2.

I am passionate about education and ensuring the very best outcomes for all children. My subject strengths lie in teaching mathematics and English.

I have experience in mentoring both trainee teachers and those new to teaching having supported trainee teachers and mentoring several newly qualified teachers (NQTs) while working in school. I have also developed this experience and have successfully supported trainee teachers in the University in my previous role as an academic tutor.

I am keen to use my experience and expertise to develop those entering the teaching profession.
