Academic Tutor in Education and EAP

I have been a teacher for over 30 years and have taught in schools in Key Stages 2-5, in special needs education (in a secure children's home and for EOTAS), in FE, and in HE.

I taught for a number of years on the former languages scheme at the University of Sunderland, as well as contributing to the Combined Studies degree MFL teaching, and now teach in and mark various modules in education (currently PRI107, PRI109, PRI114, PRI216, EDP380, EDP381, EPDM01, EPDM97), and English for Academic Purposes (Pre-Sessional EAP, EAP113, EAP216 and 218, EAP145).

As well as teaching part-time at Sunderland, I also teach German part-time for the Centre for Foreign Language Study at Durham University. I co-wrote the content of the German Grammar Toolkit for Boardworks and have been a consultant for Sam Learning and Harper Collins.

I am an examiner for MFL for two examination boards in England and worked as a consultant and author for The Assessment Box, writing materials, and leading INSET.

In my spare time, I work as a bilingual tour guide. My areas of interest are languages and education.
