I graduated from Keele University in 1991 with an honours degree in Psychology and Music and completed my PGCE at the University of East Anglia the following year. With almost 30 years experience as a primary school teacher (including 10 as a head teacher). I joined the University's School of Education in 2015 as a specialist in science education.
Teaching and supervision
Currently, I have shared responsibility for the support of first year undergraduate students on our BA (Hons) Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course. In addition to this, I teach on a range of ITT courses including BA, PGCE and PGCE School Direct.
My role at the University allows me the privilege of supporting trainees during school placement both 'at home' and overseas and my teaching commitment covers a range of subjects including science, music and professional studies.
I am currently the subject leader for primary science within the School of Education.
