ITT Lecturer

I am very happy and proud to say that I recently joined the team at the University of Sunderland this year and I'm now an Initial Teacher Training lecturer. I have 19 years of primary teaching experience from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2 and have led a variety of curriculum areas including DT, Art, Music and Phonics (Read Write Inc). I was also Key Stage 1 lead and part of my previous school's management team.

I believe that I have a wealth of experience and skills to support and develop trainee teachers, from practical ideas in the classroom, to planning, self reflection and behaviour management skills. I have a good understanding of a range of SEN needs from supporting and developing many children with social, emotional, physical and behavioural needs.

I support trainees on placement, have led enrichment programmes and support the teaching and development of phonics skills.

I teach on BA (Hons) Primary Education as well as support PGCE students.
