Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Events
I teach across all courses in the Hospitality, Events, Aviation and Tourism Department. Before teaching in Higher Education I worked in Further Education and was a Section Leader of Travel, Tourism and Aviation courses.
I studied my own academic qualifications at Teesside University having grown up in and around Teesside. I have varied areas of academic expertise holding a Tourism Management degree and a Masters in Human Resource Management. I am also close to completion of a PhD in Business Management where I have explored employee wellbeing and factors which influence this within the UK aviation industry.
I have worked extensively with industry both through my own work experiences and through research collection. Some of the organisations I have worked with include; TUI UK, The National Trust, Scarborough Council, Teesside International Airport, UNITE and Middlesbrough Football Club. I have worked in and around the education sector since 2005.
