Santander Universities

The University of Sunderland and Santander Universities have embarked on an exciting new partnership to support the next generation of North East entrepreneurs. 

This partnership will support a variety of initiatives creating enhanced opportunities for University of Sunderland students and graduates to make the most of their higher education experience and to improve their employability prospects.

The Santander funding will complement the existing programme of support available via the Entrepreneurial Development Team and we are delivering a number of initiatives from supporting idea creation, through to growing a business.

Challenge Enterprise

This two-day Start-up challenge is aimed at students and graduates wanting to explore self-employment or enhance their employability skills. Focussed challenges will enhance teamwork and leadership skills as well as critical and creative thinking. Look out for further info soon!

Santander Enterprise Seed Fund

Equity-free seed fund for students and graduates with a plan to start a business who need some initial investment to get their idea off the ground. The fund will provide a small, flexible, equity-free grant up to the sum of £1000. Find out more on our Santander Seed Fund page. 

The Business Pitch

Annual competition open to all University of Sunderland students and graduates who have a business idea. There are two award categories to reflect the different stages of business – Bright Ideas and One’s to Watch.

Grow Your Business

One day event for businesses in the early stages of trading to share experiences with peers and work through current business challenges with a facilitator who will work through a variety of exercises with the group.
