First day of our new School of Medicine in seven pictures

They came from across the North East and around the country.

Fifty strangers arrived at the University of Sunderland on Monday to begin their journey to becoming the doctors of tomorrow.

In a watershed moment for the University, the city and the region, the first School of Medicine was opened.
