International TV star Silky Nutmeg Ganache is perhaps best known as the "Munch-much, crunch-crunch” queen of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11.

But what many people don’t know is that during her time at the University of Sunderland, the TV star kept getting mistaken for popular American-Jamaican singer Sean Kingston.

The drag queen was recently reminiscing about the time she was mistaken for the "Fire Burning" singer while studying Performing Arts at the University during the summer of 2011.

Ganache revealed that during her time in the city she kept getting called Sean Kingston every night.

She said: “At the time I had a fade and I was a little fat boy running in jeans and V-necks.”

When confused people in the city would shout, “OMG! Sean Kingston!” Ganache would play along, responding to them with “Beautiful Girls” lyrics and melodies.

The star, who has just recently been eliminated from Drag Race All Stars, was at the University along with students from as far afield as France and Australia as part of the first international cultural summer school.

She was one of seven students who came to Sunderland to learn more about the University’s world-renowned courses in media, performing and creative arts.

Gananche all also had plenty of opportunities to sample the region’s wider cultural delights, including Hadrian’s Wall, Alnwick, York Minster, Northumbria’s historic coasts and castles – and even going on stage during a backstage tour of Thriller Live at the Sunderland Empire Theatre.
