Susan Edgar Head of School of Education introduced the Conference sharing her experience of application and recruitment during her own career in teaching as an NQT, Class teacher and Headteacher and her experiences of sitting on both sides of the recruitment fence. The Trainees also befitted from the excellent advice of Andy Byers Head Teacher at Framwellgate Moor Durham and Denise Shovlin Senior Leader from Aim High Multi Academy Trust Sunderland.
Susan Edgar commented: “The Conference was a great success. The feedback from Trainees has been excellent. Trainees gained first hand excellent advice on application, school visits and interview protocols and content which will support them greatly in gaining their first teaching posts."
