Hundreds of students at Sunderland’s partner university in Trinidad are now celebrating their graduations.

SBCS Global Learning Institute has been a collaborative partner of the University of Sunderland since 2001.

SBCS runs programmes in Business, Design and Engineering and has recently been commended by their in-country regulator, ACTT, ‘for demonstrating its commitment to the delivery of quality education to its students’.

SBCS’s graduation ceremony took place on Saturday 4 November at the Trinidad campus and was officiated by Ian Moody, Director of International at the University of Sunderland.

Ian said: “We have been working with SBCS for more than 20 years and I am excited at the prospect of growing our partnership and the potential of adding new developments in Esports and Nursing.

“We were very awe-struck with the investment in VR and Gaming facilities and are very impressed by the enthusiasm and knowledge of SBCS staff from those particular areas.

“The graduation was a great showcase of our excellent graduates based in Trinidad and it was enjoyable listening to all their life-changing experiences.”

Also representing the University at the ceremony in Trinidad were Dr James Scott, Head of School Law and Tourism, and Lorraine Robertson, Head of International Development (West).
