Welcome to the Law, Society and Vulnerable People Research Hub

The Law, Society and Vulnerable People Hub was established in 2022 and is a research cluster within the School of Law at the University of Sunderland.

The Hub is committed to producing critical, interdisciplinary research on how the law impacts the world around us and the people within it. Expertise in this cluster includes immigration & asylum law, criminal law, medical law, criminal evidence & procedure, counter-terrorism & cyber warfare, information technology law, international humanitarian law, international human rights, family & child law, employment law, and legal education.

The Hub also provides regular internal and external events inviting leading speakers to the University to share their research and knowledge, as well as providing development opportunities for members of the cluster, no matter what stage of their research journey they are on.
