Predictive Maintenance

Predictive maintenance attempts to detect the onset of a degradation within a particular asset  with the goal of correcting that degradation prior to significant deterioration in either the component or equipment.  

The diagnostic capabilities of predictive maintenance technologies and the advances made in digital technologies such as sensors, artificial intelligence have opened up an entirely new area of diagnostics. 

The advanced maintenance team at Sunderland University have developed a number of systems which utilise digital technologies  to save production costs, reduce downtime and extend asset availability.
