Health services and health inequalities

Our health services research, along with health inequalities research, draws on expertise from allied health professions, medicine, nursing and pharmacy.

Our health services research, along with health inequalities research, draws on expertise from allied health professions, medicine, nursing and pharmacy, to inform an evidence base for decision-making in policy and practice.
Staff working within these areas have strong links with NHS and care organisations, patient and service user groups.
Our research has attracted funding from the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), research councils, the National Institute for Health Research and commercial organisations.

The Helen McArdle Nursing and Care Research Institute was established in 2019, with the aim of promoting a vibrant, inclusive and sustained research environment for applied health research across nursing, midwifery and allied health professions.
