BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science

Eirina Saloustrou came to the UK from Greece to pursue her interest in science. Her favourite part of the course is the hands-on experience gained during the lab sessions. Eirina is currently undertaking a placement with Public Health England.

I came from Greece to the University of Sunderland to study BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, during my second year I applied for a placement year with Public Health England and was successful. I have now transferred onto BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science, the course content is exactly the same, but this route is only available to those students who obtain an NHS placement.

The University of Sunderland has helped me a lot with the work that I am doing today. They make you realise that you are something more than a bachelor's degree or something more than assignments and grades. They want your success as much as you do. I have become a better version of me and you can do the same."
