After I finished high school I wanted to continue my studies and fulfill my dream of becoming a scientist. I chose to study BSc (Hons) Biochemistry at the University of Sunderland because I had seen that the University had a really good reputation regarding its health and sciences courses. Plus, it is located in a small city which would provide me with less distractions and a more affordable cost of living.
The University offers many opportunities, and the lecturers are good at their job and willing to help you when you need it. My favourite part of the course is biology because I enjoy it as a topic generally, and I like the lecturers who teach it.
My experience of studying at Sunderland has been generally really good – I think everyone should expect some difficulties when they study at university, but I would advise future students to not be afraid and never give up on your dreams.
When I finish my degree I would like to continue my studies and do a masters course, then I would like to work as a researcher in a cancer research institute, or in another research area that would be interesting to me.”
