Field Trip to the Winter Gardens 2024

In February 2024, our third year Psychology students took a trip to the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens to participate in a workshop. Our students were able to explore creative methods of presenting work, as well as getting the chance to explore the history of the local area within the museum.

One of the tasks our students completed included designing a room set to represent a person living in Sunderland in 2019. Students were encouraged to make creative responses including drawing, writing, recording (audio and video) and making model 3-D room sets.

The Belonging Project 2023

To enhance the feeling of belonging both within the School of Psychology and on the wider Sunderland campus, we have been running an initiative to help our students feel more included and involved during their time with us.

The Belonging Project has involved hosting a range of activities throughout the year, as well as our students creating final art projects about a subject chosen by them. At the end of the academic year, we celebrated our accomplishments with an event where our students can share their projects with staff and other students, and reflect on their experiences.
