Course summary

This is our most popular undergraduate business degree. The course will give you a broad foundation in management, marketing, finance, operations, and the world economy. This allows you flexibility to focus on the areas that interest you. With an employer embedded within every module, you'll also interact with industry at every step of your journey.

When you graduate, you'll have a thorough understanding of all areas of business and management. You'll be ready to step into a leadership role in a wide variety of industries worldwide. You'll understand:

Whether it's setting up your own business or working as part of a multinational corporation, this course will equip you with the skills and capabilities to be an effective manager.

Direct entry

If you meet the relevant entry criteria, you may be able to apply for direct entry onto Stage 2 or 3 of this course.

Direct entry is not guaranteed and your application will assessed on an individual basis, taking into account key qualifications and work experience. Successful applicants will study the second and final year, or final year of the course only.

What you'll study

Many of our courses include a range of modules you can choose from. Some options may only be available if you’ve already studied specific modules. If you’re not sure what you need before picking a module, your course leader can help.

Undergraduate module credits should total 120 credits per academic year. If optional modules are available, choose an amount that totals 120 credits.

How you'll learn

You'll have opportunities for real-world creative, reflexive, and entrepreneurial skills development. For example, you'll undertake live projects, placement opportunities, workplace shadowing, and panel presentations.

Teaching methods focus on doing and reflecting. You'll learn through lectures, seminars, tutorials, and workshops. There's also problem-based learning, where you'll work in small groups to explore issues or decide how to manage a situation. This helps you to dissect, challenge, and debate. Other learning techniques include guest speakers and cutting edge e-learning technologies.

Paid placements

We can support you in securing an optional paid work placement between your second and final year. You could earn an average salary of £14,000-£18,000 a year, depending on your location.

Placements are an excellent opportunity to put your learning into practice and understand the context of your new knowledge. The contacts made during placements can also be valuable for future job offers.

Entry requirements

Our typical offer is 96-112 UCAS Tariff points, from a combination of acceptable Level 3 qualifications which may include:

A Levels
T Levels
BTEC Diplomas/Extended Diplomas
Scottish and Irish Highers
Access to HE Diplomas
The International Baccalaureate.

We accept a maximum of 6 points from Level 3 Key Skills qualifications.

You also need three passes at GCSE grade C or above. This must include maths and English language, or a minimum of Level 2 Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number. If you've studied for a GCSE that has a numerical grade, you'll need to achieve a grade 4 or above.

Undergraduate fees are set according to rules from Government in line with forecast inflation. If you're a Home fee-paying student, the fee for your first year of study for 2027/28 will be £10,050. You'll pay tuition fees for every year of study. Fees may increase every year based on the Retail Price Index.
